Trois p'tits tours...

As a member of french mathy band Apes Did Ensemble, i've been touring trough Brussels, Amiens & Metz (North & East of France) last week, we've been following the talented Alaska Pipeline from Rouen.
We met the guys of Hexagen, Flo & Anne, they organise indie shows in Brussels and they make great cakes of all kind (salted, sugared and tomatoe free...). We played in RTT a big empty space on two floors. It was our first show of the tour we were so exciting by this unusual and singular place we had fun with our cameras waiting for the people coming to the show.
The first band of the evening was Frank Shinobi closely related to Honest House collective, just like Casse Brique (in the audience tonight) an amazing drum/guitar band we met in our last tour in Belgium.

Then it was our turn, i don't have any video but i can tell you it was pretty acrobatic : Julien (Apes drummer) lost his floor tom and i stun an other Julien (Casse Brique guitars) which tried to help him out ; Bal broke his stings, took his spare guitar which he forgot the strap, then stole my Baritone one which i use once in the middle of you're yellow i'm green... i had to play half of  the song knees on the floor.
Some pics there : Cabarousse FlickR
Alaska Pipeline ends the evening, i almost kill Julien (bassist) jumping over the stage the second before they play a song to get my camera... the P.A. fell on him... (huge shame tonite)
We drove to Amiens after a reconstructed meat and fries meal (should only have the fries...) where we picked up reinforcement for driving : Laurene, Vince's girlfriend (Did i tell i'm the only one with a driving liscence in the band?), we played at John Makay's house where live a community of people/artist. The place is outstanding. It was not like playing a show it was more being invited to a party with people coming in and out from the neighborhood. I was a little bit pissed of by my lethargy, plus our poppy style seemed the not the use of the people...
John Makay is an other Drum/guitar band in the path of Hella but more accessible in my opinion, i really digged their album (Mon amour, Mi amor). I was happy to be there and more when i slept in the attic with all those cats hearing the rain falling on until late in the morning.
Metz was our last show of this short tour, we arrived late we took five hours to avoid the taxes on the road. The guys of the organisation seemed pretty bored by the owner of the bar and there were at least 10 people... We played last this time and decided to give all we have in our chests... no videos, no photos, just souvenirs and the congrats of the people in  this stinky place we left because of 4 days without shower nor changing clothes.
